Solid advantages on 2 levels:lower costs, more environmental protection

Lower service costs
Kostenersparnis

Freedom from oil results in significant cost reductions for:

  • Maintenance
  • Repair and
  • replacement of downstream components.
Lower operating costs through interruption of the output pressure
Betriebskosten

All oil-lubricated compressors continually operate against the full operating pressure, regardless of the amount of air required.
The excess quantity of air is discharged at full pressure.
However, for approx. 85% of the operating time, the compressor runs idle and therefore requires an average of 590 l of fuel per year.

Oil-free brake air compressors from Neander offer the possibility of interrupting the air supply by means of a shut-off valve in the inlet pipe, which is controlled by the operating pressure. With this, once the operating pressure has been reached, the compressor idles, i.e. no air is delivered.

Conventional compressors are unsuitable for this, as they would very quickly become contaminated with oil.

Environmental protection
Umweltschutz

With conventional, i.e. oil-lubricated compressors, the piston rings are intended to prevent the entry of oil into the space above the piston. However, in real life, this is only achieved to a limited extent, which also shortens the service life of the compressor.

If oil gets above the piston and therefore into the compressed air, oil-contaminated air escapes into the atmosphere due to braking and air regulation processes. This is referred to as "oil discharge", which due to the enormous numbers of trucks and buses, causes a very large amount of environmental pollution.

With Neander technology, this oil discharge can be completely and permanently eliminated over the entire service life of the compressor.
