New possibilities with a double crankshaft

With the innovative crankshaft technology from NEANDER MOTORS it is now for the first time possible to operate compact plunger compressors as oil-free versions for trucks.

The Neander compressor essentially consists of the following components:

  • Dry-running crankshaft drive with 2 crankshafts and 2 connecting rods
  • Dry-running piston with cylinder
  • Synchronous operation with 2 gear wheels
  • Cylinder head with an independent inlet and outlet valve

Due to the double crankshaft technology, the piston runs in the cylinder without any lateral forces whatsoever. Only a force-free guidance is necessary in order to centrally guide the piston. This creates the prerequisite for operating a specially coated piston with dry running at the permissible operating temperatures.

Both crankshafts turn at the same speed, but in opposite directions.
This enables the compensation of inertia and torque, which results in very smooth running.

Our development is now in the long-term test phase.
