Diesel outboard engines: A quantum leap for marine applications

With NEANDER technology, diesel fuel can now be used in the outboard motor sector: Modern diesel technology for economic and environmentally friendly mobility on the water.

The implementation of the first turbo-diesel outboard motor is in the development phase.
It is being carried out by our subsidiary Neander Shark GmbH and is financially supported by the "Business Development and Technology Transfer Corporation of Schleswig-Holstein".

The following application-specific advantages are especially important:

Longer range

In addition to cost advantages, the considerably longer range due to lower fuel consumption offers a further decisive dimension for use on the water: greater flexibility and a significant increase in safety.

Lower operating costs

Beside cost savings due to a significant lower fuel consumption a further cost reduction will be realized through uniform fuel logistics. With a Neander diesel engine it won't be neccessarry anymore to carry and to store extra gasoline fuel – in areas, where only diesel is used.

Grater safety

Due to the higher flash-point of diesel fuel, the operation of a outboard motor is considerably safer.
The handling of fuel and its storage on board are no longer a risk factor.

Lower investment costs

Because of the advantage of the lower inflammability of diesel fuel, high investment costs for safety measures can be saved in the commercial sector.
