boot Düsseldorf 2018

From 20 to 28 January 2018 the water sports world looked to Düsseldorf with enthusiasm and this year the boot Düsseldorf closed with a record result:

1,923 exhibitors from 68 countries presented yachts, boats and accessories for all areas of water sports on 220,000 square metres of exhibition space. Trade fair chairman Werner M. Dornscheidt: “This result is unique in the industry. No other water sports fair reflects the diversity of the entire world market as the boot does.”

With 247,000 visitors from 94 countries (2017: 242,000 visitors), in the corridors of the 16 exhibition halls there was a lively drift and the boot 2018 underscored its number 1 position as an international industry get-together. Petros Michelidakis, director of boot, describes the situation clearly: “Our strategy of further internationalizing the boot has been a success. This is now apparent in the structure of the visitor clientele.” (Source: boot.de)

Our Neander Dtorque was represented three times at the 49th boot: In hall 10 we presented our turbodiesel outboard engine on a joint stand with our worldwide sales partner Yanmar and the company Marx as sales partner for the countries D, A, CH, HUN, SVK and CZE. In this way, we were able to pass interested customers on directly to the respective sales contact person.

A special attraction on our stand was our “round table” at which we were able to show the engine parts of the Dtorque to touch and to answer more complex technical questions.

Interest in our engine was great, we counted an astonishing number of potential customers for a leisure fair such as boat builders or interested parties from the lifeboat sector, commercial fishing, public institutions, offshore industry or tender boats for super yachts and received very positive feedback on the degree of innovation of our product.

Perhaps one or two visitors had also become aware of our stand through the report on ADAC online.

In Hall 4, another Neander Dtorque was presented at the booth of Marine accessories Europe from Yanmar’s worldwide dealer network.

And as the crowning highlight of the trade fair, a Neander Dtorque outboard motor “welcomed” the large number of journalists and high-profile guests as a real eye-catcher in the entrance area of the press centre.

We are already looking forward to the 50th boot Düsseldorf in January 2019 – and before that to the SMM from 4th to 7th September in Hamburg.
