SMM 2018 in Hamburg

Our Dtorque turbodiesel outboard made a big impression on land as well as on water at the SMM, the leading international trade fair of the maritime industry, which took place in Hamburg from 04 to 07 September.

With around 50,000 trade visitors from more than 120 countries and almost 2,300 exhibitors from 69 countries, the SMM (“Shipbuilding, Machinery & Marine Technology”) has once again impressively demonstrated its position as the largest and most important trade fair for the global maritime industry.

Here meets the Who-is-who of the maritime world and presents innovations, trends, and pioneering technologies. Not only ship builders but also service operators and important protagonists from all areas of the supply chain come to the fair. Thus the SMM offers the unique chance to talk to and network with representatives from industry, government, the navy, and the scientific community. This is exactly what we did.

Visitors to our booth which we shared with the company MARX – YANMAR´s sales partner for the Dtorque for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, Czech Republic, and Slovakia – were explained the technical details of our motor and also had the chance this year again to be chauffeured to the with our shuttle service to the City Marina. There three test boats were waiting to take the passengers on board, who could then get a first-hand experience of the smooth running and engine power of our Dtorque 111 in front of the magnificent backdrop passing the Elbe Philharmonic Hall.
